Child Safety and Wellbeing

Digital Attitudes is committed to the safety and wellbeing of every child and young person who takes part in our programs. We have zero tolerance for child abuse. We follow the Victorian Child Safe Standards.

Our programs for under-18s are not yet open for booking. The commitments below apply before any of them runs, and for as long as it runs.

Before we run any program for under-18s

  • Every facilitator will hold a current Working with Children Check for the state the program runs in, and will follow our Code of Conduct.
  • We will not open bookings for a student program until those checks are confirmed.

How programs run

  • In schools, a school staff member is present throughout. The school’s own child safety policies and code of conduct apply, and we follow them.
  • In holiday programs, a participant is never alone with one adult out of sight of others. We tell parents and guardians the supervision arrangements for each program before they book.
  • Facilitators do not have private online contact with participants. Contact goes through the parent or guardian, or the school.
  • We collect the least information we need, keep health details out of written records, and do not use photos or video of a student without a parent or guardian’s explicit consent.
  • We respect and support the cultural safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people, and the safety of children with disability, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children who identify as LGBTIQA+.

Raising a concern

Anyone, including a child or young person, can raise a concern about the safety of a child in one of our programs.

  • Email hello@digitalattitudes.com.au with “Child safety” in the subject line. We acknowledge every concern within 2 business days, take it seriously, and keep it confidential except where we must share it to keep a child safe or to meet the law.
  • If the program runs in a school, you can also raise it with the school.
  • We report to Victoria Police or Child Protection where the law requires it, or where we believe a child is at risk.
